Name of Project: Data and Security Consortium for Web3 ‘DSC3’
Proposal in one sentence: Form a consortium of security enthusiastic data scientists to use data to address security challenges in Web3.
Description of the project and what problem is it solving:
The introduction of Web3 means we have had more data to consume than ever before. With that, there are also a number of security challenges and threats that can be addressed by using this data. Currently however, there are no data-driven intelligent solutions used for smart or contextual security products, or services that can be consumed by Web3 builders and end users.
We want to create a consortium, called Data and Security Consortium for Web3 ‘DSC3’, with the following objectives:
- Develop a continual network of data and security practitioners to create and share best practises, and have future collaborations on projects.
- Define data-driven security models using several machine learning techniques, such as feature engineering, data clustering, classification, and association analysis.
- Work on services that analyse a massive amount of relevant security data generated from various sources such as on-chain and off-chain sources, and to discover insights or risks with minimal human intervention.
Example structure:
Grant Deliverables:
- Create a consortium participation structure and governance model
- Define objectives, meetup cadence, etc.
- Identify initial data practitioners to join the consortium
- Host the first DSC3 event
